South Texas College Chapter Membership


Benefits for AAWCC Members include:

  • Professional Development
    Activities at national, regional, state, and local levels. College chapters, state sections, and regional, conferences. National conferences on women’s interests.
  • Networking
    AAWCC membership of community college women throughout the nation, open to trustees, faculty, administration, staff, and students.
  • Publications
    Publications highlighting the association’s activities and timely articles on important women’s issues. An annual publication with research on community college studies and personal accounts pertaining to the community college agenda.
  • Advocacy on national issues
    Welfare, wellness, workforce, equity, and other current national concerns affecting community colleges.
  • AAWCC Web site
    Current information on activities, announcements, job opportunities, and important national issues.
  • Leadership training opportunities
    Contact the National Institute for Leadership Development via web site link, email, phone, fax, and mail.
  • Council of AAWCC
    Recommendations for and reports on issues pertaining to higher education in general and community colleges specifically.

Point System

Each member obtains one (1) point per clock hour by attending meetings, activities, extra activities (ex. helping in creating items), and donations (ex. monetary or ticket sales above the requirement). Each member requires a total of twelve (12) points to remain in active status.

The AAWCC STC chapter member shall participate in two (2) special events and attend monthly meetings.
